Love it, hate it, outsource it, skip it — no matter what you do, laundry is an inevitable part of life. Whether you keep up with laundry by running several small loads throughout the week or let it all pile up until the weekend, there are real ways you can improve (or even enhance) your time spent dealing with laundry. Check out the tips and products below to help you become a laundry pro!

Install a wall-mounted ironing board in the laundry room.

Instead of hauling your laundry from the laundry room to wherever you store your ironing board and then getting everything all set up, install a wall-mounted ironing board in the laundry room and all you’ll have to do is flip it down when you’re ready to de-wrinkle!

Add a detergent cup caddy to catch drips.

Don’t ever let your laundry detergent drip from the spout to the floor or the top of your washer again. Install a handy detergent cup caddy and those little spills and drips won’t bother you ever again.

Pre-sort clothes using a sorted hamper.

Instead of throwing all your clothes in one hamper and then sorting out the mess on laundry day, save time by getting and using a sorted hamper. All you’ll have to do is remember to toss the whites and colors in their separate compartments!

Reduce drying time and save money with wool dryer balls.

Wool dryer balls not only reduce drying time for your clothes, but they also reduce wrinkles and take the place of dryer sheets and liquid fabric softener.

Save space with a rolling cart.

If your laundry room is tight on space or your shelves are already stocked full, consider getting a rolling cart for placement between your front-loading washer and dryer. Use the rolling cart to store detergent, wool dryer balls, and other laundry must-haves. All you’ll have to do is roll it out when you need something.

Always have a mesh bag on hand for delicates.

Just because your delicates are delicate doesn’t mean you can’t toss them in the washing machine. When you do though, always place them in a mesh bag first. Doing so will help them stay fresh and avoid wear and tear.

Dry your dry-flat-only clothes in style.

Don’t just pile your dry-flat-only sweaters and knits on the top of your washing machine and dryer and hope for the best. Instead, invest in a hanging sweater dryer and you’ll be good to go!
