Cheers to 2022!

Magic Mushroom Clubhouse has built so much since September 2021. The NFT space moves fast, and we wanted to highlight where we have been so we can focus on what is to come in 2022! This article will serve as a reference for new people getting involved and also a source of accomplishment for individuals that have been in the clubhouse from the start!

The Beginning

Magic Mushroom Clubhouse started as an idea that has grown into a way of living. Team members at MMC knew NFTs were huge and also realized the best way to gain exposure and learn more was to build. The project came into fruition from recognizing profile picture (pfp) projects were taking off and gaining popularity.

The art was done by lunagirl. She had always found mushrooms cute and was fascinated by how mushrooms played a role in everyday life. The team also recognized that psychedelic medicine was underrepresented and that the project could serve as a platform to bring awareness to mental health research.

The one thing that all team members were interested in was how NFT pfp projects were building communities. We noticed Twitter and Discord communities that were active and exciting to be a part of. We wanted to create something similar and build a welcoming and accepting clubhouse. We had hopes our community could turn into a place to learn about NFTs and build relationships.

The Mint

Leading up to the mint of MMC, we had an active and dedicated Discord. We had built a strong following by having a public face to the project (TheBrettWay) and by trying to truly listen to what members wanted.

Our main focus was on building the community and adding value for these members. We have steered away from focusing on the metrics, because we feel there are better ways to accomplish long-term success. But looking back, we understand people want to know the statistics and we believe we have some solid ones to show. Mint day was executed to perfection and here are some stats from the mint and where we are now:

The project is a collection of 9,200 Magic Mushroom NFTs that are individually unique. Original mint price was 0.05 Eth + gas.

• Whitelist and Pre-Sale saved early adopters money on gas
• Public Mint sold out in 16 minutes
• Current holders at 50% of supply (4.6k holders out of 9.2k supply)
• Current Eth floor is above mint price (not to mention the rise in Eth price since mint)
• Over 1.4k Eth traded in after market sales

Shroom Scouts

Shroom Scouts was a way to gamify and build connections with other MMC NFT holders. It was a series of tasks where holders could gain Shroom Scout Badge NFTs. The support for the process was unbelievable and we discovered so many talented people! Over 1,000 people participated in badge 1 and this dedication and activity continued throughout Shroom Scouts. The first 150 to be awarded all 5 badges were given the opportunity to mint Ancient Shrooms.

Ancient Shrooms and DAO

Earlier newsletters covered Ancient Shrooms and the DAO in detail. Here is a quote from the Ancient Shrooms article:

“Ancient Shrooms are 150 governance NFT’s that give voting power to its’ holders. Ancient Shroom NFT’s were earned by dedicated MMC members who completed a series of tasks and tests. There were 5 main tasks and all had a corresponding “Shroom Scouts Badge” associated with them. Once a member collects all 5 badges, they have the opportunity to obtain an Ancient Shroom NFT!”

The point of Ancient Shrooms and the DAO is to give power to the community. We have wanted this project to be community driven and execution of a few team members became a bottleneck quickly. We recognized how talented MMC holders were and felt we could build something incredible if we all worked together.

DAO Constitution

Community members came up with the idea of building a Constitution for the DAO. This would help be a source of truth in what Ancient Shrooms’ roles were and how to better the project. It also helped build a way to insure the project would avoid illegal activity and grow in an ethical way.

Ancient Shrooms have the ability to vote on adding proposals to the constitution and also have the power to vote on what direction the project takes. In 2021, the first two proposals were approved and the DAO is in full motion!

Community Projects

We believe the greatest value that came out of Shroom Scouts was relationships and the numerous community projects that were formed. Within a community, people have different interests and needs. We wanted to make it available for people to start projects within the community and leading into 2022 we feel this opportunity is more than available to all MMC holders. Here are some incredible projects that are already formed:

• Shroom Tank — almost every week Shroom Tank is hosted on Twitter Spaces and live streamed on YouTube. Shroom Tank gives projects an opportunity to explain their utility and try to collab with MMC and possibly get on our launch pad.
• Launch Pad — there have been many incredible projects featured on the MMC launch pad. These have included Divine Anarchy, Castle Kid, Fyat Lux and many more. Owning an MMC NFT gives you exposure to these up and coming projects and allows you the opportunity to get on their whitelist!
• MMC Twitch — a new Twitch account was built to host MMC sponsored events and gameplay. On Christmas day, the first cross-community event was hosted and prizes were given out to winners and teams that eliminated the MMC team! Shout out to Divine Anarchy for taking the title on Christmas day.
• Movie Nights — a dedicated Discord was formed to host movie nights for Shroom holders. Be sure to check announcements for upcoming movie nights.
• Zen-Den — The Zen Den continues to be a great place to go and be grateful. It has grown into a source of acceptance and in 2022 will expand even more. The Zen Den is lead by the wonderful NFT Dudette.
• Shroomvent Calendar — If you hadn’t entered into these giveaways then you’re missing out! Kingsnetic hosted a daily giveaway up to December 24th! Events like these will continue to take place and are a great way to try and win prizes.
• The Clubhouse Newsletter — In 2022 we are adding more writers to give different perspectives and insights within the community!
• Collaborations and Networking — There are endless possibilities in NFTs and our discord is a fantastic place to learn, grow, and build in the space!
• Shrooms of The Week — Each week we choose the most active and supportive members to award for Shroom of The Week! This final week’s award goes to Jobot! They have continued to make hilarious and relatable memes! Check this one out:

Leading Into 2022

Owning a Magic Mushroom Clubhouse NFT leading into 2022 is an incredible opportunity. We plan to continue to be a hub for building in the NFT space and for connecting with like-minded people. We want to foster a community that builds each other up and that realizes a rising tide lifts all boats. Working together to build Web 3.0 is how we will continue to be successful in this space. People continue to say “we are early” and this could not be more true.

A few things on our radar for 2022:

• Staking and tokenomics are developed and should be available in early 2022. Tokens will give owners added benefits within the community.
• Continued networking and access to supportive and talented people. New community projects are being built everyday.
• Opportunities to learn how to build within the NFT space and how to get the most out of NFTs. The best way to learn is to build!
• Revamp of the Ancient Shroom art.
• Magic Mushroom Clubhouse NFT Companions.
• New merchandise, partnerships, and other ways to bring awareness to this incredible project!
