Halo Tournament and AMA
It was another eventful week for Magic Mushroom Clubhouse (MMC) and the NFT Space in general. The NFT market is up, Ethereum is down, and I am addicted to saying “gm”. We have had quite a few newcomers join our Discord and phase 2 of the project is underway. This article will cover updates from this past week!
Halo Tournament Drama
There was an unbelievable amount of support for the live Twitch stream on Christmas Day, so the Halo tournaments are here to stay. This past weekend the Halo tournament featured professional gamers that played for up to $10k in prizes and incentives! The professional teams involved were KC Pioneers (KCP), Space Station Gaming (SSG), and Built By Gamers (BBG).
The final match came down to KCP and BBG. In the end BBG was able to fend off KCP for the title and was rewarded the grand prize. This victory came with some accusations of cheating. Twitter and other news outlets (sportskeeda article) have been covering the allegations that BBG was wall-hacking.
Magic Mushroom Clubhouse is looking into these allegations and want to make sure the gamers are playing on a level playing field. The investigation is ongoing and MMC will release an update when more information is obtained.
AMA Recap
MMC had our first AMA of the year on January 7th! It was a high level overview of what is going on and what is to come. You can watch and listen to the recap here. Many topics were covered and individuals within the community brought up great questions that helped drive discussion. If you ever have a question, just ask. There are likely many other people within the community that have similar questions and bringing them up is how we all stay informed and help grow the project.
Zen Den
One topic covered in the Newsletter was the Zen Den. The resounding support of Zen Den has led NFTDuddete to want to expand the brand and help more people with mental health. The Zen Den has a new dedicated Twitter and Website if you want more information regarding mental health in the NFT space.
The goal of Zen Den is to expand throughout the NFT space and hopefully help projects implement something similar. There are weekly AMAs about a variety of mental health topics. People are welcomed on stage to discuss any insights or issues they may need some guidance on.
The Zen Den is also starting life coaching one on one’s where you can sign up for a “mental health check” with NFTDuddete herself. It will not replace therapy and we encourage people to get help if they need it, but it will give you an opportunity to talk with someone who has an incredible background in mental health research and someone who has experience in NFTs and understands the FOMO, hardships, and anxiety that comes along with this space.

Newsletter
I am going to continue writing these newsletters each week to give a high overview of what is going on in MMC. We have heard people enjoy it and find value in the packaging up of updates. We are also going to be expanding this newsletter to cover more niche topics like mental health, NFT guides, NFT gaming, etc.

Ancient Art and Companions
Last week there were sneak peeks released of both the Ancient Shroom and the Companions art. Ancient Shrooms are receiving a revamped version due to community request. The art is looking amazing in my opinion and many people within the community are helping out with accessories and design. The art is nearly completed and should be updated very soon!
On our original roadmap we also had stated that there will be companions for your Magic Mushroom Clubhouse NFTs. A companion is a free NFT that you get just for holding an MMC NFT. This is a way to reward people who have bought in or held the MMC NFT from the start. Shout out to Xel in our Discord for the AMAZING work!
Launch Pad
We have covered the MMC launchpad and Shroom Tank many times in these newsletters, but I still want to touch on it to explain the value. Every Sunday we have Shroom Tank taking place as an AMA. Projects can come up and explain their project and why they believe it would be mutually beneficial to have them on our launchpad. This is a great place to learn what makes a project desirable. It can help give you methods on how to value NFT projects and how to ask the right questions.
The launchpad is a way to give MMC NFT holders an opportunity to get White Listed for these up and coming projects. Not all projects that are featured on Shroom Tank are supported by our community, but the ones that make the Launchpad have been vetted and are believed to be exciting and unique. We will start to have weekly articles covering Shroom Tank so stay tuned!
DAO Cap-inent
The point of the MMC DAO and Ancient Shrooms is to help streamline community ideas. Any Magic Mushroom Clubhouse NFT holder should feel empowered to build and help bring value to being apart of the clubhouse. We want everyone to feel as they have a voice in where this project goes and that is why Ancient Shrooms was formed. Here is an announcement I made recently in the Discord related to the DAO:
“As many of you know, the DAO is in full motion and articles are already being passed. The point of the DAO is to give the community ownership and a voice on where this project goes! Ancient Shrooms are able to vote on proposed articles and can help direct and give resources to people wanting to add to the Magic Mushroom Clubhouse. We want to make the process of building and voting as seamless as possible.
When community members built the MMC Constitution, they believed the DAO should have 9 representatives to be a source of contact for all MMC holders and to help bring ideas to a vote in front of the Ancient Shrooms. These 9 members will be voted for and elected, based on Article 8 in the Constitution. Voting will take place twice a year (February 1st and August 1st).
Due to the DAO being in full motion and the vote not taking place until February, we will have 9 placeholders for the Cap-inent until the first election. These people will serve as a source of contact if you have an idea to better the MMC community. MMC dev team members may also be reached out to, but in the end these ideas will need to be brought to these 9 people to consider a vote in the DAO.”
The 9 members in the Cap-inent are your source to bring up ideas on how to better the project. We also encourage people to throw ideas around in the Discord, because even if you do not have the capacity or talents to make something happen, chances are someone in the community may be able to help!
Around The Clubhouse
It is difficult to cover everything that has happened in the Magic Mushroom Clubhouse community. As we all know, the NFT space moves fast and so does MMC. It is easy to get overwhelmed, so we recommend finding a couple channels within the Discord to follow and interact in. We want there to be a welcoming and exciting niche for every member. If you have any ideas on a niche or channel in the Discord that is untapped or that should be added, please reach out! Here are some other things happening around the clubhouse:
- Floor Price — MMC NFT distribution continues to grow as there are now 4.8k owners of the 9.2k items. The floor price has also gone up this past week and is nearing 0.1 Eth.
- Shot Callers — the MMC community has their very own shot caller and NFT investor Popeye (29.4k followers on Twitter). He is a self proclaimed NFT gambling degenerate that tweets about projects he is investing in. Also, want to give a shout out to team member Champ T who’s Twitter has grown by 5k followers overnight. Both of these shot callers have a strong reputation for investing in solid NFT projects (not financial advice).
- Be Careful Out There — there have been people impersonating Mods and Team Members within our community. Remember to always be careful and to double check that you are communicating with the right person. Never click on strange links and be vigilant in protecting yourself. I will release an article covering all things safety within the NFT space soon.
- Shroom of The Week — this week’s Shroom of The Week goes to a meme king! Zlapo has been making contextual memes that always seem to be relevant. They also just help lighten the mood and can bring a smile to anyone’s face. Congratulations Zlapo!
