Fun? I haven’t had fun at work since 2001.

I’m in an entrepreneur group that meets every few months to give each other advice. One founder was talking about how the joy had left his job to the point where he was no longer having fun. And another founder blurted the above quote.

I was thinking about that while I read this piece about a COO unjustly fired. My interpretation is that a very effective COO got forced out and fired by less effective executives for some combination of sexism and resistance to raising their own games. She was better at work, but that made work less fun for them.
