Moving Forwards in 2016

Friends, Happy New Year!

It seems apt, at the beginning of a new year and with 100 followers, to write my first letter. I have very little to say, except thank you. Thank you for being interested in what I have to write.

I began this publication as an exercise for relating academic theology, faith and everyday life to one another. I know from experience that this is easier said than done, but still I will try. In truth, we are all ‘theologians’ in some sense. We all ask the big questions of life at some point. We all have thoughts and ideas about God.

In 2016 I will continue to write, and hopefully more frequently. I openly acknowledge my amateur ability in this venture, but I also desire to improve with every new piece of writing.

I am currently in my second year studying theology at Durham University. After this academic year I will have two more to go, and in September I move to Canada to study at McMaster University for a year. I still have much to learn.

What a wonderful platform we have at Medium. I love its potential for encouraging the craft of writing and for starting conversation. So please, do join in. Share your thoughts. Offer me feedback. You are welcome here.

Thank you,

Alex Rowe
