“The Most Important Word Comes from

Him to Us”

The wonderfully amicable William Ames takes part in our 100-word series, attempting to answer “What is theology to me?” Here is his response:

“A good friend of mine preached it like this: “Theology is words about God”
“We all have them. In fact ‘words about God’ span thousands of years and cultures.”
“But maybe, they only mean something if we consider something else first. What does God say about us? In John, Jesus is called ‘the word’, the ‘logos’, but I don’t think his word means the best ever human word about God. I think it means he’s God’s best and most complete word to us and about us.”
“If God is real, the most important word comes from him to us.”

Will lives in Cambridge and is married to Jen. He’s interested in church, healthcare clinics and friendship. He’s praying that he’ll become a Dad around the 4th of April 2015.
