The problem with imagining God, in any religion, be it mutiple deities or a monotheistic approach, is that eventually the image will begin resembling Humankind it self. With all it’s flaws, except that God is flawless. So when God comes into possesion of human qualities, those qualities become more acceptable. It becomes easier for otherwise pious members of religions to take one step further toward that Shining Light. That epitome of Power, Endlessness and Eternal. It becomes just a bit more of an option, because if God does it…

But i feel that the when one has a notion of a higher being that is in complete control, one should not seek to emulate, it is made for a reason. It basically means that everyone will try and fail, and be utterly devestated by the final revelation. But they WILL try. Imagine if every single individual started telling themselves that THEY are in control of everything, that they are free -and have the power- to shape their life as they please? Where does it end then? A hallmark of religions have been to encourage peace and understading, it is a message carved into most major religions. They are also the most often overruled, it seems.

I think that the reason why many basics of the different religions resemble each other, is because it

comes from the same place. The human brain.

And the reason that the peacefull, humane and respectable messages are almost singularly treated in the same way is that, again, the nature of the PEOPLE adhering to whichever particular religion is the same:
