The forty-something man with a day’s beard and circles around his de-cataracted eyes stared into the mirror. Simon Robbins, Editor-in-Chief of the Facebook Times, once the New York Times, worked alone in a little apartment on 34th Street. This home-office was the paper’s only remaining facility in Manhattan. The online Times was in Omaha.

“At least we have a New York angle,” Robbins muttered. He went back to the monitor and read.
