Is your printer secure? Donald Trump can help [CARTOON]

Cartoon by Phil Johnson for MIT

At my place of employment, we’ve had a rash of printers all of a sudden printing pages and pages of gibberish. It’s basically the result of people out there probing for devices that are on the Internet and open to exploitation. The good news is with a few simple precautions (changing the printer’s default admin password, turning off unneeded services, etc.) you can prevent this sort of thing. However, sometimes you have to do something a little more drastic, like firewalling the printer, which was a just a round-about way for me to shoehorn Donald Trump into a tech cartoon.
