The love that longs to own us

Love gives us the capacity to understand. It gives the patience to place ourselves in different view points, view something that is not intrinsically suited to us as our own. Yet, it is also that which gives us the fervent passion to take one side over the other. We must grow in love and become spiritual giants for each of us to have access to this kind of love. The more we align ourselves with the silent still voice within, the more we can access this love, and the more we access it the more it grows. Like a raging fire that cannot be quenched until it consumes everything, this love consumes everything leaving behind no trace, and maybe this is what humility is. It doesn’t collect accolades but looks to what else it can consume. It is in the heart of embodying what we have learned in life through experiences and insights that we encounter the stiffest resistance to grow in this love. Yet, all it asks for is a silent unwavering intention, a deep inner commitment to it, and boy does it return something disproportionately fulfilling and unimaginably beautiful in turn!
