#metoo!

Many years ago, I too wanted to say “Me too.”
The aunties hushed me up.
They said women only say me too when the discussion is about
obedient daughters, virtuous sisters and faithful wives.
When the rhetoric is against the “superior sex”
we sew our lips and introspect.
Did I neglect the religious obligation of covering up?
Was my smile too large? My friendly demeanour bordering on flirty?
or was I subconsciously inviting the assault
by showing my arms and legs.
And still if you feel you were wronged
Pray!!!
Pray for patience and the strength to remain silent.
Pray that God grants him forgiveness and guidance.
