The Adventures of The Boy Jesus
This succeeds The Adventures of The Child Jesus . It covers Jesus from age 11 to 15. My sources include the Q Document, sayings in the Gospel of Thomas and inferences regarding the way of Abba.
Jesus most likely retreated to pray from late childhood. He conversed with Abba, the familiar figure he recommends we all converse with in what is called The Lord’s Prayer.
The Adventures of The Child Jesus cites the earliest understandings attributed to Jesus. I assume Jesus had a sense of his fate and that that his original gospel of repentance, forgiveness and Abba’s presence would be largely rejected. I doubt he was aware that the result would be a full-blown religion based on credal messianism.
I have over time argued for the primacy of reciprocal forgiveness, universality and inner transformation as the essence what Jesus propounded.
Luke 2:39–52 suggests Jesus conversed at age 12 with scholars in Jerusalem. If so, what do you think he said?
