The Phoenix Rises
After every winter comes the spring
Frost thaws, and in the rays of morning
Darkness recedes, powerless against the light
Gradually, we forget the night
Somehow, light borne in darkness seems brighter
The heart restored is ever-stronger
So here’s to life, with all its imperfections
The ups and downs, the hardest-learned of lessons
Reborn from ashes of the pyre
Growing stronger with each fire
Without fail, the phoenix will arise
For that which doesn’t kill us makes us wise
So rather than thinking it a hindrance
Be merely grateful for winter’s absence
Let your light shine beautifully
As darkness fades to distant memory
