There is a Song
There is a symphony
soaring softly,
awoken at the beginning
of it all,
when everything
was waiting for you
When love was a rosebud
holding you, unfolding you
at the right moment
and like the starry night
you bloomed in darkness
On the cosmic canvas
you were covered
in constellations,
your consciousness waking
to the maker’s palette
Dark days allow us
to rise again
as we did then;
to ascend
from the masses
of clustered confusion,
to drink the sweetness
of a long, dark night
where once again
we can mingle
with starlight
The sparkling silence
is like a memory of a memory,
fading more as you follow it
But if you stop and listen,
you’ll hear it
like a silver chord
in the clouds
The cosmic womb
never left us
It is true north,
pure direction;
the free will
of expansion
Lay your shadows
in the chorus
Let each crescendo
calm your cares
and each note
will hold your suffering
until there is nothing left
but music
There is a river
There is a reason
There is a song
Thank you
for returning me
to square one
where the bones
of my body
can bend me
into a better fit
for my body,
where the truth
can glide smoothly
off my tongue
There are no questions
in alchemy; only answers
and the simple truth
that each heart flows
from the stream of love
and back to it
We have one another
and that is enough
We can trust
There is a river
There is a reason
There is a song
