To say a prayer is no small thing
to one unused to praying
To one who prays
a prayer is everything
It opens up the only way
Only’s a term that has much freight
It suggests exclusivity
at which point one must say Wait
Prayer works universally
and only consciousness can pray

Consciousness belongs to all
It’s choice’s mechanism
Its fruit is freedom
Its power ineffable
It is the true voice found in everyone
We can all know consciousness
Simply stop and look within
That’s where praying can begin

Jesus gives us the best prayer
one that touches every base
It summons justice hallows sharing
is forgiving and receives forgiveness in return
It sees evil and temptation and it sets us free
It is a daily way to live and learn
