Unanimous international respect

Shimon Peres was an inspiration to the young generation and a new image of the old ones. He never rested, had a clear mind and view about the newest technology breakthroughs.
Although for many years he was referred to in the Israeli political arena as a loser, and even though he did lose on many political occasions and to different political rivals, he won the unanimous Israeli and international respect upon becoming the state’s president and in the following years.
Here are 6 quotes he gave to Israeli media along the years that can teach anyone a good lesson about life:

  • We now live in a different era. Today’s farmer needs science to conquer a piece of land, and science is not force. In recent years we see how real revolutions take place with no arms…Today, a young man named Zuckerberg, without an army nor ideology made a revolution.
  • People think I am fantasizing. But I’m not fantasizing anything. And if I am, I have a license to, since everything that had been fantasized turned out a reality.
  • Don’t listen to parents or teachers, they only look for the shortcomings in you. Take yourself in the hands and make the best things by yourself.
  • There’s one thing as bad as death and that is boredom. People who are bored are dead men walking.
  • As a leader, you can be as small as your ego or as big as the goal you serve.
  • Pessimists and optimists end up the same way. So why not be an optimist?

Here is Memontage’s tribute to his remarkable life
