What If You Couldn’t Fail?

There was a question I heard on Lewis Howes’ School of Greatness podcast about a month ago that stuck with me.
“What would you do with your life, if you knew that you could not fail?”
There’s a reason this question stuck with me.
What if you couldn’t fail? Think about what you would do. Every single thing you would possibly do.
If you take at least a minute or two to think, I think you’ll realize something. Chances are, everything that you would do, if you just knew you couldn’t fail, everything that you would do, are the things that deep down, you’re the most passionate about doing.
Or, maybe you’re not so passionate about them. I could be wrong. I can’t read minds.
But there’s something inside of you that makes you want to do those things. Have they been a part of your dream for a while?
But, the things that you want to do are the things that would make you uncomfortable.
The thing is, we don’t like feeling uncomfortable. No one does, unless they’ve developed the right mindset for it.
The things we would do seem impossible to us. We’re afraid of the consequences. We’re afraid of what people might think of us. We’re afraid of all the criticism, simply because we would be doing something that someone else was too afraid to do. We’d show people what’s possible, we’d show them we’re doing the things that they themselves want to do. But they’re too scared to do them.
Fear is the reason why we haven’t done them yet. And perhaps, that’s why we’ll never do them.
Do we need to be scared? Honestly, I think it’s okay to be scared. Because it’s the scary things that make us grow into the person that we want to be and that we know we could be.
If someone else has done it, why can’t we do it? Remember, they were once scared too. The only difference between us and them, however, is that they actually did something about it.
It’s just a matter of telling yourself that you can do it, and taking small steps towards what you know you’re destined to do.
And before you know it, you’ve just conquered your biggest fears.
What are some of the things that you would do, if you knew that you could not fail?
