When we look is there divine within us
There surely is connection of some sort
Speech that seeks is not without a witness
There is nothing we cannot pray for
If aloneness is all we can sense
we might suppose the listener is us
But when we meet up with our conscience
we are not far from a wellspring of love
This wellspring is part of who we are
a self that lifts us up when we are low
When we allow ourselves such openness
there is no end to how far we will go
Call this force homegrown or not
Say it is profane say it’s divine
Finally the difference is in us
and how we were with what within us lies
