Don’t be dramatic about getting started. Sit down, compose your thoughts and write. Allow the words to ebb and flow, without a fuss. You aren’t on the hunt to feed your family. You can miss the mark a few times — pick a wrong idiom here or paste an imprecise synonym there — without losing valuable time. The words won’t prick their ears up, and gallop away from you.

Don’t overthink the process either. Don’t let it intimidate you. It’s okay if the introduction sounds weak at first go. It’s alright if you don’t have a decisive structure in mind.

As a writer, you can still nail the copy without feeling weighed down by missteps along the way.

Never worry about how many will read what you write. Don’t fret over the concerns of publishing agents even before you talk to one. Pay no heed, when you are starting the piece, to what may come of it. A writer who pens for the sake of profit or popularity is like Batman wearing the bat suit just to attend costume parties or pick up women who are into men who dress up like echolocating microbats.

Just write.

And leave the drama to matters outside something as pure, beautiful and alarmingly peculiar as written communication.
