Contagious

Poem by Stephanie Hiteshew
They all
call me ugly.
I tell them,
“If that’s true,
I hope it’s contagious.”
And they scatter
like the days
I wasn’t this smart.
They all
call me ugly.
I tell them,
“If that’s true,
I hope it’s contagious.”
And they scatter
like the days
I wasn’t this smart.
