The giant sat down firmly and waited.

- Good evening, and welcome to our establishment. This is our menu.

- You’re new. I’ve been here before. I know the menu, I even know the cook.

- Ah, so you know what you’re having.

- Yes. I’ll have a large of number 3.

- Excellent choice! Might I also suggest an entrée? We now have the most delicious rings. They’re made of flesh and a bit of meat from around the waist.

- Do you have those special ones?

- Special ones?

- Yes, the special ones. Other places have them. The smaller rings. The crunchy ones.

- Yes, of course. There… There is a waiting period of 45 minutes, though.

- 45 minutes for a starter? How so?

- Well, we do keep a number of grownups clean and ready to be cooked, but never infants.

- Still, it doesn’t take that long to prepare a dish.

No, sir, it does not… it takes just a bit to clean one and get it ready, and it takes just a little longer to get the dish ready…

- So what’s the rest of the time for, then?

- It’s… It’s just how long we usually take to convince the grownups to kill their children.
