UPDATE: Dylan Rounds Murderer Charged!
The long suspect was charged with murdering and hiding Dylan Rounds’ body.
The man known to have been squatting on nearby property, James Brenner, 59, was charged on Friday in 1st district court with aggravated murder, a first-degree felony, and abuse or desecration of a dead body which is a third-degree felony.
Rounds who was 19 was reported missing last May while farming in the desert town of Lucin, in Box Elder County. Dylan last spoke with his grandmother over the phone on May 28th of 2022 and told her he needed to get his seed into the shelter away from the rain. This was the last time anyone heard from the young man.
Dylan’s family has been working tirelessly to find answers to his disappearance and after waiting several months with limited help from authorities, they waited with no sign of their son. There was no cellphone activity, bank activity, or sign of him whatsoever.
On Friday, his parents gave a statement to the media thanking everyone for focusing on the case and finding the answers they needed. The Box Elder police told the media that the charges were based on solid evidence that has been released by them. They are now focusing on the charges against James Brenner and finding and recovering Dylan’s body.
