UPDATE Madalina Cojocari: Missing North Carolina Girl Seen on Footage
Madeline’s mother’s car was spotted in a remote area.
A photo of Madalina Cojocari was taken before her disappearance and is said to be a remote location on which the investigation focuses. It has been around 80 days since the 11-year-old went missing from her home in Cornelius North Carolina.
The search for Madalina has continued but there has been little success. The search has now moved from the home where Madalina lived to Madison County, where a dense forest and low-populated area are found in the Appalachian Mountains.
Police moved the search to this dense forest in January when they asked the community if they had seen Diana Cojocari or her car in Madison County. Residents of the area reported seeing Madalina’s mother’s car in the area a few days after Madalina disappeared. One resident told authorities that she had driven by Diana’s car parked on the side of the road near Lonesome Mountain. This resident remembered the car and the driver because later, the car has sped past her in a hurry as she continued to drive down the road.
