My terms for 2017
One of my best buddies leaned over to me after the stroke of midnight and said, “You have to be unafraid of taking what’s yours in 2017 — but you have to do it on your own terms. So what are your terms?”
He caught me.
We are at a cottage in Northern Ontario. I just woke up. I am sitting at a wooden kitchen table while people sleep all around me. And I am making my terms right here, right now.
Here we go.
—
To be unflinching in moments where I am trusting myself.
To be decisive and accept that I will be wrong sometimes.
To counter fear in decision making and forgive what is done.
To love harder, to show up, to be trustworthy, to hold space.
To be transparent, even if it runs counter to my own immediate interests.
To unapologetically build a business and platform that exists to serve others in bold, unconventional ways.
To invest time and energy only into exceptional humans.
To use any and all tools to win, without undue self doubt.
To appreciate that this is not so serious, that we are all small, and that we have little time here — but to kick ass anyway.

That’s mine, so far. What’re yours?
