Over the past four and a half years we have learnt a lot about Collaboration, what helps people to collaborate and the questions that help people to Collaborate in a freer and more inclusive way. This canvas brings together the principles of Collaborating Out Loud with this learning to create a simple and freely available way for people to start to experiment with collaboration the Collaborate Out Loud Way.

The great thing about the canvas is that you can pick it up and use it at whatever stage you are in your collaboration. It doesn't matter if you are just stating off collaborating or have been doing this for years. The canvas helps you to explore and frame your questions in ways that will give you a deeper understanding about what you need to do together to achieve your shared aspirations.

The Canvas Questions

These questions have been designed to help you to independently use the Collaborate Out Loud Canvas to explore and understand the ecosystem you are collaborating in.

Each section of the canvas can either be written in directly or you can use post-its to populate it and then they are easy to move around and amend.

It might be the case that you don’t use all of the canvas the first time you sit down with it as it might take some time to get your head around how each principle applies and this is absolutely fine. The canvas is meant to guide you through collaborative working not be a one off exercise

The canvas is Split into three areas:

Area One explores the principles of Kindness, Make it real, and Out loud

Area Two explores the principles of difference, democracy, community and space

Area Three explores the principles of create, test, learn and spread

You can download the canvas and questions to use. We would love to hear how you are getting on using them via #collaboutloud

Happy collaborating out loud
