Another memory game from Atari. Its funny to see the real simple trends in these early days before anybody really knew what the fuck a video game could or should be. Right now it’s basic match-two memory games, later on it’ll be mazes, and eventually it’ll be grimdark shooters starring white dudes with stubble. Hunt & Score is slightly better than Brain Games because its …. let’s say flashier? I guess? Maybe it’s actually worse because it does this annoying thing where it flashes the board at you instead of showing you the entire thing at once. I guess having 16 numbers on the screen with these graphics was just, uh, too demanding for the Atari 2600.

TERRIBLE

LAWFUL AVAILABILITY: Fairly easy to find, would cost you 7 bucks loose and around 16 bucks complete in box. It’s also available on the Atari: 80 Classic Games in One! Anthology as ‘A Game of Concentration.’ CHAOTIC AVAILABILITY: Included in most Atari 2600 ROM sets.
