The funny resemblance of these 4 words intrigued me to write a story about it. I found it while internet surfing and all the credit goes to DW Culture.

Do you know the difference between Macaron, Macaroon, Macaroni, and Macron?

If you don’t then let’s find out the historical origins and basic differences between them.

1. Macaron

Macaron is a French meringue-based sweet made up of egg white, almonds, icing, and granulated sugar. It comes in all rainbow colors.

During the Renaissance, Queen Catherine de Medici’s chefs introduced the Macaron when she brought them with her to France in 1533.

During French Revolution, In 1792 it became popular when two Carmelite nuns baked and sold in order to pay the housing bills. Later on, the nuns became Macaron Sisters.
