We all know Salvador Dali as a famous surrealist painter.

But do you know that after the 1945 nuclear war, Dali became obsessed with nuclear mysticism?

It seems he lost interest in the surrealist world that made him famous.

Instead, he became fascinated with atoms, nuclei, and levitating objects in floating space. He wanted to visually dematerialize objects and give space substance.

Dali called himself the pioneer artist of the atomic age and claimed that all his previous work was merely evolutionary and this shift in focus was against the surrealist manifesto and ideologies.

His career seemed to be centered around the idea of reconciling art, science and spirituality. In fact, Dali’s thoughts seemed to align more closely with the scientific ideas of Heisenberg than the psychological theories of Freud.
