Have Black Lives Matter Protests Ended?

Things have quieted down on the racism front

The protests were going on almost everywhere

After the brutal killing of George Floyd at the end of May 2020 in Minneapolis, Black Lives Matter protests broke out across the United States. People were demonstrating to speak out against racism. After a police officer held his knee on Floyd’s neck so he could not breathe with three other police officers close by and not doing anything to stop the act, people protested against police mistreatment of Black people. It brought systemic racism into the minds of the public.

Many Black mothers and fathers have said that they absolutely need to teach their sons about what they should do if they encounter the police. The parents tell them how they should act to avoid being stopped by the police. They know that it could happen just because of the color of their skin.

Have things improved in the area of racism since the death of George Floyd? The widespread protests have mostly stopped for the time being. Does that mean that racism is no longer the same problem? NO! Racism still exists. There will be more protests when another tragedy happens to a Black person.
