Who knew the painting’s misery would reflect in his own life

Cristobal Rojas, a Venezuelan, was born in 1858 to parents who worked in the medical profession. The Misery, also known as La Miseria in Spanish was created by him in 1886 that currently resides at the National Art Gallery, Caracas in Venezuela.
