The Second World War, which broke out on September 1, 1939, was the greatest war to date. After lasting for six years and one day, the Axis power comprising Germany, Japan, and Italy finally surrender.

However, the very high and authoritative spirit of patriotism and identity of the Japanese people makes them still do not want to give up even after the war ended.

Teruo Nakamura was considered to be the last Japanese soldier to surrender. He was stationed on an island in Indonesia that had been conquered in the Battle of Morotai.

About Teruo Nakamura

Nakamura comes from the native tribe of Taiwan, namely the Ami tribe, from the Island of Formosa which was then a Japanese colony. Born in 1919, he was drafted into the military and entered a Takasago Voluntary Unit of the Imperial Japanese Army in November 1943.
