Independence: Every College Kid’s Dream

Woah, that’s intense.

Getting ready to leave for college all I could think about was, “I can do whatever I want and no one can stop me.” But even with that thought, I knew that could also be a dangerous thought to be thinking.

Procrastinating and taking pictures instead of studying like we were supposed to be doing.

After gaining that independence, most kids tend to go wild when they get to college but I knew that I couldn’t; so I learned how to manage. At first I procrastinated a lot and didn’t really worry about much but after the first few weeks I got more on top of my game and I studied more and was better at trying to finish my work as quick as I could. Once, I got into the swing of things college got easier, but was still challenging at times. I find that it is hard to balance a life, school, friends, a boyfriend back home, and family. But, in the end of this journey that I am on I know I will be happy with my life; but that’s not to say I’m not happy now, just stressed because of this new found independence. I can handle it though because I know I am responsible enough to mature and learn to be a full fledged adult without a parent watching over me. I know this because I have made it this far in life and I’m still alive so that has to count for something in my book.
