Usually, transgender people would probably tell a story like ‘it all started with voices in my head or better still i feel like a female trapped in a male’s body’. People close to them would probably have observed them behaving in peculiar manners that contradicts their sex or what is expected of them, such as a guy sitting on the toilet seat while peeing or a guy feeling self conscious in front of other guys. Once you notice such tendencies in your kids, please get help from a competent psychologist and get the child to convincingly identify with his sex.

What could be the cause of men wanting to become women?or the other way round, which is less common. could it be the sight of natural born women exposing their body or the flamboyant way they dress that is so appealing? one thing is certain, girls get more attention by exposing their chest than men. It could also be because gender change is gradually becoming a norm in some society although, most African countries including Nigeria consider it a forbidden and shameful act in the same category with homosexuality.

come to think of it,what pleasure do people derive from a sex change? If it’s for fulfillment or to satisfy some invisible demons,it’s hardly worth it. Eventually, they tend to hang in the transgender realm belonging to no distinct gender group either male or female. in the core, there remains a shell of their original gender.

with the way things are progressing, one would probably have to ask the person one is intending to marry this question, are you transgender or the real thing? In the future, more people would definitely ‘ make their come out’ and further seek to blur the lines between being a boy or a girl. They usually end up loosing their identities especially in societies that abhor transgenderism. This is no matter of acceptance, some things are just not worth the trouble…
