  1. She’s funny.

Take this self deprecating gem from a biography of her husband, French President Emmanuel Macron: “He needs to go for it in 2017, because by 2022 his problem will be my face.”

2. Sometimes she seems to speak in double meanings

Like when commenting on Melania Trump’s isolation, and we all know she means more than just White House security measures like no open windows: “Everything is interpreted, over interpreted. She is a woman who has a lot of character, but who is keen to hide it. She laughs very easily about everything, but she shows it less than me..” going on to imply that Melania has been put in a purely decorative political position (the direct opposite of Michelle Obama), saying that she doesn’t want to be a “flower pot” to Emmanuel, but that’s impossible in D.C. “Everything was very framed, there were small labels on the ground, I put myself where I had to put myself.”

3. All her friends left her when she began dating Emmanuel Macron

She met Emmanuel because she was his high school teacher, saying that they became “plague victims.”

4. She left her 1st husband for Macron.

Brigitte was first married to Andre Louis Auzière, with whom she has three children, before leaving him in 2006 for Emmanuel, whom she married in 2007.

5. She was an accomplished teacher.

Brigitte previously taught French, English, Latin, and drama. She also has her masters in Literature.

6. She’s basically the best kind of wealthy possible.

As in she’s the heiress to a chocolate fortune. Her family owns the French chocolate company Trogneux, also famous for its macarons.
