Are you tired of looking for a healthier hot chocolate option at the grocery store? Only to be disappointed by the nutrition label? I know I was! This is why I chose to make my own and share the recipe with you! This healthy hot chocolate is gluten-free but trust me, you wouldn’t even know it!

All you need is:

  • 8oz can of Hershey’s Natural 100% Unsweetened Cocoa (may substitute Navitas Organics Organic Cacao Powder)
  • Unsweetened Cashew Milk (may substitute your favorite)
  • Vital Proteins Vanilla Collagen Peptides — optional
  • 1/4 tsp of Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tbsp. of raw manuka honey — optional

Instructions:

Place 2 tbsp. of Hershey’s Natural 100% Unsweetened Cocoa and one scoop of Vital Proteins Vanilla Collagen Peptides into a mug.

The next step will be your personal preference. You may either heat up the unsweetened almond milk on your stovetop or pour the cold milk into a mug with dry ingredients (stir with a spoon) and put it into the microwave for about 1 1/2–2 minutes.

Next, add 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract into a mug and an optional tbsp. of honey and froth that baby up! I use a milk frother but it is not necessary.

I do not add marshmallows due to the ingredients in them (corn syrup, gelatin, sucrose, acids, artificial flavors — just to name a few). If you absolutely need healthier marshmallows (like me), I recommend Coco Bakes Marshmallows. These are AMAZING and made with only good, naturally sourced ingredients.

Enjoy and let me know in the comments how you like it!
