Do you want to try some Austrian cookies? — The Vanilla Crescents

This delicious pastry is traditionally served on Christmas. However, it’s a regional custom in the Province of Burgenland and south Styria to serve cookies at weddings.

For the classic and delicious Vanilla Cresent („Vanillekipferl“) you need flour, butter, grated nuts, sugar, powdered sugar, and vanilla sugar.

Ingrediens for 26 cookies

Wheat flour (smooth or universal) 140 g = (1 1/8 cup — 4,94 ounce)

Butter 100 g = (¼ cup + 3 tbsp — 3.53 ounce )

Grated Nuts (Almonds / Hazelnuts) 50 g = (1/2 Cup — 1.76 ounce)

Sugar 30 g = (1/8 cup — 1.06 ounce)

Vanilla Sugar 8 g = (1 1/2 teaspoon — 0.28 ounce)

Some Powdered Sugar and Vanilla Sugar to strain over the cookies
