It’s almost October, and it means we entered the rainy season in Indonesia — and also the busy season for Auditor. I’ve posted a recipe for the immune booster, which is bone marrow broth, and now I’ll share with you an immune booster drink that tastes sweet.

I’m the type of person who enjoys having a cup of warm tea in the afternoon or before I sleep. I usually had a cup of black tea or green tea accompanied by a slice of cake or chocolate bar. After years and years of consuming cakes and chocolate bars, I should cut my sugar intake.

But as you know, drinking a cup of bitter tea is not complete without a slice of cakes. So, I decided to change my regular tea to herbal tea. What I usually had these days is Honey-Lemon-Ginger-Garlic Tea, or I called it HLGG Tea.

As we know, honey has tons of benefits. It contains several vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, which helps to reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and some type of cancer. Even though honey contains sugar, but is considered less harmful than caster sugar.

Lemon is good for weight loss and a good source of vitamin C. Beside, if you add lemon to your herb tea, it freshens your tea. And from the article that I read, drinking warm lemon water every morning may help you prevent constipation.

I actually not a big fan of ginger tea. I don’t really like the hot kick taste in my throat. But, when you caught the flu, it may help you feel better. In fresh ginger, certain chemical compounds keep the bacteria or germs from growing. And when you feel tired after exercise, ginger will help you reduce (a little bit) of soreness.

Garlic! I know most people will think I’m a weirdo to add garlic in my herb tea. I was thinking about that for the first time. But I encouraged myself to add garlic into my herb tea since garlic has many benefits for my body. One of the benefits is garlic can combat sickness, such as the common cold.

Trust me. Adding garlic to your herb tea won’t taste that bad!

You need:

  • 9 cloves of garlic, crush it.
  • A lemon, slice it.
  • A handful of ginger, slice it.
  • 350–400 ml of honey

What to do:

  • Put all of them in a jar.
  • Store it in your refrigerator. Take 1–2 spoons of this and mix it in hot water.

I usually use 1 jar of HLGG tea for less than 2 weeks. After 2 months consume this tea, I feel better. Not a significant difference, but I do feel better. And you can’t feel the benefit right after you drink your first cup of HLGG tea. No herbs medicine will cure you right away; it takes time.
