Here you can find an easy and quick recipe for fresh green beans.

One of the most popular dishes of Turkish cuisine is green beans. It can be consumed with olive oil and cold in summer, hot or warm in winter. It is my favorite food to make and eat. Even in Turkey, the ingredients vary from city to city, but I leave my favorite recipe with lots of tomatoes to you. You can change the spices, peppers and tomatoes according to your taste. But do not forget that the most important element of Turkish cuisine is tomatoes.

Ingredients

½ kg green beans

2 tomatoes

1 onion

Half a teaspoon of paprika

Half a teaspoon of black pepper

2 teaspoons of salt

Half a cup of olive oil (or vegetable oil)

1.5 tablespoons of tomato paste

3 cups of hot water

Preparation

1-For the green bean dish, first of all, let’s fry the chopped onion in olive oil until it turns pink.

2-Then add tomato paste, chopped tomatoes and spices cook until smell the tomato paste.

3-Add the beans that we washed sliced and continue to fry.

4-Let the beans simmer until they change color and begin to soften. In order for the beans to cook quickly, it is important to roast them well without adding water. The cooking time depends on the type of bean.

5-Don’t forget to put the pot on low heat and close the lid while frying. A good enough fresh bean can be cooked even while being roasted in its own juice without the need to add water.

6-Let’s adjust the salt, when the green beans are roasted enough, add the hot water and let it cook.

7-You can check if the beans are cooked by taking a bite from time to time. When the stove is turned off, let’s wait for the first temperature for 15–20 minutes. You can serve the green bean dish either hot or warm.

Note: If you want to serve it cold like with olive oil, you can cook it the same way without adding tomato paste.
