Our purpose

As we all know, we are facing a time of crisis where the outbreak has affected millions of people all over the world. News all over the world gave us general information, but daily activities?

That is why this publication is created.

Our mission is to log our days on what and how it has affected our daily lives since the very first case from our respected countries. I hope that when people read this, they will be more informed about what’s going on in everyone’s lives.

Now, let’s get down to business, shall we?

What We Are Looking For:

  1. Record the event that is happening around you. What do you want the readers to know? Did the supermarket in your area have no stocks at all as people panic buy?
  2. Make sure each article you write is also a take away for the readers to know. If the supermarket ran out of stock as people panic buy, what would you advise the readers to do?
  3. It is recommended that you join the Medium Partnership program. You never know that curators will be interested in your work.
  4. Make sure you polish your draft, we recommend you to use Grammarly.

2 Formats, your pick:

1. Logging

Here is an example:

Following above’s article there are specific formats you must consider when publishing here:

Title *Insert your title

Subtitle — Day 20 since (Your country)’s first case(Unless you want to share a story that happened in the past, make sure you write down the specific day)

Beginning of the Body Paragrah:

*Date today, *Country and City of origin

  • Your article must be one single event that happened on that day, make sure that there is a take away for readers.
  • Provide links of sources as well.

NOTE: This is a log, not a diary. So don’t write all your feelings about how bored you are at home.
To count the exact day, use this site Business Date.

2. Non-Logging Articles

If you have tips, advice or information for readers to know what to do at a crisis like this, do share as well! You never know that it’ll help the readers. Like above, make sure it’s:

  • It must relate to the Coronavirus outbreak. What did it impact? Here is an example that is published in another place:
  • One goal for each article that has something for readers to take away. It must teach our readers something valuable at a time like this, think of how to keep them calm.
  • Last, make sure it’s clear and gives a logical solution. You don’t want to confuse the writers.

Pictures

Depending on what you are going to write, it doesn’t necessarily have to be from Unsplash since you will be documenting your own life.

Just make sure it’s clear and you credit the source. If you are using your own picture, make sure it’s high resolution and write it down that it’s yours.

Tags

There are lots of things that are affected due to the outbreak. But make sure you have these in your tags:

  • Covid-19
  • Health

THINGS TO AVOID

  1. No heavy product/service promotion. Just because it’s necessary at the outbreak, doesn’t mean you are allowed to advertise.
  2. No diary records. This is a log publication, so don’t make this very personal. That means, no feelings allowed.
  3. No clickbait titles.
  4. Do not write too long. Try to max your words to 2,000 or 5–6 min read.

How to Apply

If you want to write for us, simply leave a comment down here. Comment only once.

All the best!! Let’s document our days together!!
