Among the many conversations with my wife that have left an indelible mark on my journey, one stands out as a profound turning point. It shattered my preconceived notions and delivered a simple yet transformative truth:

In the Eyes of God, Everyone and Everything is Equal.

Before this revelation, I held onto a belief that equality could be quantified, with men at 51% and women at 49%. But that changed the day I received my “download.”

As I stood in my kitchen, crying like a baby, I wept not in sadness but in awakening, knowing that my life would never be the same.

From that moment, my perspective shifted. Every encounter, every experience, would now be seen through the lens of profound equality — a tapestry of diversity woven from the same Cosmic Source.

This article explores gender and equality through a spiritual and esoteric lens, guided by the Radiant Wisdom of our Divine Source. It unveils our Creator’s perspective where EVERY creation is inherently Good (1 Timothy 4:4) — a cornerstone of understanding equality.

Are you open to hearing my perspective? If so, I invite you to continue reading.

Assumptive Language

In one’s spiritual journey, there comes a point where progress hinges on embracing the concept of equality for everyone and everything. For those who grew up with Christian or Catholic backgrounds, this can pose a unique challenge. You see, we were taught that God, the Source of ALL Things, is masculine.

Our first introduction to God’s gender can be found in Genesis 1:4 which reads:

“God saw that the light was good, and HE separated the light from the darkness” — Genesis 1:4

The assumptive language that God is “He,” molds our perception, fostering the belief that one gender holds superiority over the other. For those who embrace this belief, life becomes a canvas upon which one gender is painted as superior, all due to the author’s choice in assigning God a masculine pronoun.

The Creation of Adam by Michelangelo

I refrain from judging the author, because I understand this truth:

“We don’t see things as they are; we see them as we are.” — Anaïs Nin.

The same principle extends to our perception of God. We often view God not as God truly is, but as reflections of our own selves. For instance, if you are prone to judgment, you might perceive God as judgmental. If jealousy is your trait, you might describe God as a jealous Deity. Even scriptures will appear to align with your convictions.

I often wonder, “If Genesis were penned by a woman, would God’s gender be feminine?” I digress.

To genuinely comprehend and embody equality, one must view it from within, through the lens of our Source, the “I AM THAT I AM.” Until this transformation occurs, life will persistently mirror the inner unbalance, reinforcing beliefs in gender and racial hierarchies, even in the pursuit of equality.

The Universe’s Message of Balance

In the Universe’s grand design, balance reigns supreme. When our thoughts become unbalanced, life serves as a mirror, reflecting those unbalanced beliefs. In this context, the imbalances manifest as the notion that men surpass women, white eclipses black, and light outshines darkness. This incongruity also reinforces itself in religious institutions, where clergy are elevated above laypersons.

For those with Christian backgrounds, revisiting Genesis — the beginning — becomes imperative to unearth and reevaluate these deeply ingrained beliefs.

Revisiting Genesis: A Path to Understanding

Genesis chapter 1 is, at its core, an ode to Light. The word “Light” graces its verses thirteen times, accentuating its profound significance.

God IS Light, which means that every element of existence, whether it can be observed or not, originates from this Divine Light.

Consider this: at the heart of every atom — the building block of our universe — electrons, protons, and neutrons whirl around the nucleus at the astounding speed of light. In essence, Light serves as the nucleus of the atom, affirming that Light is the Source of All creation, from atoms to galaxies.

God is All, and God is Light. Everything in existence emanates from His Light. Do you see how I just referred to God as masculine? In all honesty, I understand why the author of Genesis might have faced a similar dilemma but chose to write masculine pronouns, particularly if they lived in an era when hyper-masculinity and patriarchy held significant influence.

But the truth is, because God is All, and everything springs forth from God, God MUST encompass both male and female aspects. Again, the only thing God cannot be, is limited to one gender.

The Genesis of Gender Polarity

Everything in the Universe has two poles, one positive (+) and the other negative (-). Remove one pole and the other ceases to exist. Simply put, a slice of bread cannot have one side.

In Genesis 1:18, we read about the birth of polarity:

“God made TWO GREAT LIGHTS — the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night.” — Genesis 1:16

The first Light is called the “Great Light” (Alpha) and the second Light is called the “Lesser Light” (Omega). Then God assigned gender polarity to both Lights:

“…male and female he created them.” — Genesis 1:27

Now, watch this: In the creation of “Two GREAT Lights,” BOTH the “Greater” and “Lesser” Lights are described as “GREAT.” (Re-read Genesis 1:16)

The adjective “lesser” does not denote degree; rather, it denotes polarity to differentiate between the two poles. See figure below.

Make no mistake, whether positive or negative, masculine or feminine, light or dark, black or white, in the eyes of God, both polarities stand as equal, and BOTH are GREAT!

When Jesus said, “I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End,” He was establishing the insignificance of polarity. Whether positive or negative, male or female, “I AM” encompasses both — no matter how contradictory both poles appear.

“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” — Genesis 1:27

We are ALL made in God’s image! Therefore, God MUST embody both Masculine AND Feminine polarities, not one alone. “In the image of God were mankind created, male AND female.“ It’s right there! Again, BOTH polarities are GREAT — neither one being greater than the other.

The Equality of Darkness: Embracing the Yin and Yang

Contrary to popular belief, Darkness is not the absence of Light but another manifestation of it. (She) Darkness coexisted with Light from the beginning, as stated in Genesis 1:2. She, like Light, has always existed. She has no beginning because She has no end. She is Boundless and Eternal, as the depths of the Ocean. She is the Yin, and He is the Yang, two sides of the same Celestial Coin.

When viewed through the lens of our Divine Source, we are invited to reconsider our beliefs and honor the divine balance within ourselves and the world.

Everything that originates from God is Great — everything! Woman is Great and man is Great! Darkness is Great and Light is Great! Black is Great and white is Great! You are Great because, in the eyes of God, everyone and everything is Great. Anything else is merely an illusion of Truth.

Here is another perspective of the same truth: White lives matter and Black lives matter. Male lives matter and female lives matter! Animal lives matter and mineral lives matter! You life matters, because ALL lives matter in the eyes of God.

And so it is.
