Striving for the joy
promised to you,
but valuable lessons
are taught by the
shadows that
are cast in this
life.
Never able to appreciate
happiness without
the hurt,
it’s more than the
mask that you wear.
Constantly falling short,
unable to
reach your goal.
Accept the shadows
and watch life change.
