I have been

for years walking behind

choosing a path

that was never mine

The unwanted pathways

the misfit dreams

disintegrated me

and I lost myself

Forgot my sense of direction

for there was darkness everywhere

I walked alone a thousand miles

to find the light I needed

Aware of myself and my aspirations

I paved my own path

enjoying the dusk and dawn

no looking back from now on
