Thursday Poetry Prompt — Voices

“A choir is made up of many voices, including yours and mine. If one by one all go silent then all that will be left are the soloists. — Vera Nazarian

A thousand miles

in an inhibited land

she shouts, but could not be heard.

It was cold, people had their ears covered

covers not made of wool

but iron

For centuries she spoke

despite her locked lips

but still could not be heard

Voices have been trapped

in minds

trying to find an outlet
