Thursday Poetry Prompt for The Cotton Thread — Garden

Clear away Winter:
after it gives up its good,
what’s left is debris.

New life takes patience:
in every small beginning
growth is possible.

Surprises will come:
hesitate to call a weed
what you did not plant.

Life calls to itself:
each seed becomes a future
rising and falling.

Let stand the seed heads:
someone else may find some good
in what’s left behind.

Our Thursday Poetry prompt is “Garden”. Tag your piece “Thursday Poetry Prompt” and “The Cotton Thread” and the other three tags can be of your choice. You can find our latest prompts on the Thursday Poetry Prompt page. We will be looking forward to your responses.
