You’ve binged all your favorite Netflix shows, the kids have colored every page of every coloring book, and if they ask to watch Frozen II one more time — your going to scream.

So now what?

Luckily for all of us, as the social restrictions have gotten stricter, the creativity in Cowley County has gotten stronger! Even though the traditional, in-person events we’ve all looked forward to can’t happen, we’ve seen church services moved to livestreams, teddy bears come out for bear hunts, and local groups issue their own at-home challenges.

Even though you may be stuck at home doesn’t mean you have to be stuck with nothing to do! Check back regularly to find new activities! Be sure to let the business and organizations putting these events together know how much you enjoy them!

If your business or organization has an event that you would like added to the list, email me at info@cowleytourist.com!

Sew Cloth Masks For Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor
Masks should be at least double layer and have a different pattern on the inside versus the outside, preferably 100% cotton. Cloth ties are fine if elastic is unavailable. While homemade masks aren’t medical grade, they are washable so we can sanitize & reuse them for some purposes. Contact our campus by phone or email to arrange for drop-off.

Sew Cloth Masks for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice
If you have handmade masks you would like to donate, please contact Harry Hynes Director of Volunteers, Sheila Shaw at 316–217–0205.

Sew Reusable Gowns for Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor
Reusable gowns that suit our needs should be made of polyester or polyester-cotton fabrics, or cotton with plastic or waterproof lining that can be safely laundered and re-used. They should be long-sleeved and come below the knee of the person wearing them. They should close in the back with ties or snaps. Fabrics that do not repel water can be waterproofed, but that spray must be reapplied after each washing. If you are interested in donating, please call 620–506–0130.

Write Letters To Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor Residents & Staff
Our residents would love to receive letters and art work by mail. If you would like to send some warm thoughts and cheerful messages, mail them to our activities director, Lori Peters, at Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor, 1711 N 4th St, Arkansas City, 67005–1607.
You are welcome to send letters to our staff at the same address; everyone is working extra hard to fulfill our mission. Words of encouragement would be a blessing.
