Mr Joseph’s Blissful Delights

Following on from one of this year’s most mystical liquid masterpieces — Heartless — Mr Joseph returns with two tracks from his forthcoming album: Inner Haze. Tape Bang and Blissful Delights are like chalk and cheese to your ears, displaying the Joseph’s impressive range in production.

Mr Joseph — Tape Bang (Liquid V):
Mr Joseph really pushes the edges of liquid funk with this one; his cocktail of acidy builds and rampant horns resonate over a jumpy beat which is topped by MC T.R.A.C’s arrogant vocal. The variance in pitch is accompanied by a melody of high synths that break down into a long FX build. The track then drops in a chorus of more fragmented horns and an even harder vocal — whoever introduced these two did the drum and bass world a great service.

Mr Joseph — Blissful Delight (Liquid V):
The second track brings the mood down with a cleverly understated beat that is caressed by a collection of drawn-out piano chords. Using a subtle blanket of electronic sounds that sit comfortably under a soulful vocal from Wednesday Amelia, this track really does live up to its name as a blissful delight.

Both tracks have given us a teasing taste of Joseph’s upcoming album, which, no doubt, will bring us a collection of more innovative sounds that explore new realms of liquid drum and bass.
