UNREQUITED WORDS PRESENTS
I Will No More Suck at Awesome
No, It’s not a rant
Out there, there are awesome people doing awesome things.
But I, I suck at awesome!
Great ideas bombard my head all the time.
But, I have neither the means nor the invention to give them fruition.
All around me, I see monumental stuff happening.
How I wish I could build one brick for the Mighty Colosseum,
Write one word for the Great Novel,
Take one step in the Grand Marathon.
But, No!
I am cursed with Mediocrity,
Befriended by Inertia,
Besotted with Inability.
Perhaps, the big leagues are too big for me.
They say Your time will come too,
And that Great things take Time.
The most beautiful of the flowers bloom late.
Just work and wait.
Etc. Etc.
Nonsense!
Save yourself the trouble of lecturing bullshit to the walls.
I just wanna do something big.
But,
Rome wasn’t built on intentions!
But wait!
You know what.
You’re right.
Greatness can’t be inherited, it’s a choice.
A goddamn Choice.
The way I see it,
I can declare myself a loser, and rest.
I can take the day off, nay, the life off.
Shame, it’s the only life we got.
Or,
I could work my arse off,
Be patient in the duration,
And see things through to the end.
And then too if the result is the same,
I can go back to my easy, full-time job of grumbling, and cursing.
But for now,
I will no more suck at Awesome.
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And — which is more — you’ll be a Man, my son!
IF- Rudyard Kipling.
Thank you for dropping by.
