The Lockhart daughters were beauty queens, literal beauty queens. They went to beauty pageants and won them. They put their trophies on the Endusted mantle of the living room that no one ever entered, except to clean. First, one would win a pageant, and then the other would win the next. You never suspected either one got jealous, because they smiled prettily whether they won or no.
