A guide to static and motion graphic elements for streaming video content

Motion graphics and visual elements are a great way to give your virtual event, meeting, or conference a high-quality look & feel that will add value to your attendees’ viewing experiences.

If you’ve ever watched live news or sports on TV, you’ve seen many different types of motion graphics and visual elements in use, although you may not know what they’re called or how they’re developed.

The Creative Content Studio @ PSAV offers a full range of static and motion design & production services that will turn your virtual event into a broadcast-quality experience your attendees will appreciate. The following cheat sheet describes some of the elements we can design and produce for your event:

INTRO VIDEOS One way to give your virtual event a real “broadcast” feel is by starting your feed with a polished video that makes it feel like a program your attendees would expect to see on TV. Here is a welcome video we recently produced to kickoff REBA’s Virtual Summit:

Intro videos are also a great to segue into each new segment/presentation. This is an example we produced to introduce the general session of a virtual event for Intel:

LOGO ANIMATION Give your brand a fresh, professional polish by bringing your logo to life. Logo animations can be used between speakers, at the beginning and end of a broadcast, and as elements of other animations. Here are some great examples on YouTube, as well as one we recently did for REBA:

LOWER THIRDS Lower Thirds are static and/or animated graphics that add important information and context to video content. In the image at the top of the page, the lower third identifies the station (CNN), reporter (Erica Hill), and program (360° Bulletin), in addition to scrolling current headlines along the bottom of the screen. Here are two examples of lower thirds we’ve done for clients in the past:

BUGS A bug is an animated or static logo (or similar branded graphic) used to identify the creator of a video, like the VH1 logo in the corner below:

Bugs can also provide additional information as well as identify, as in the example below with time and temperature included with the logo:

Here is one example of two bug graphics we provided for REBA. The bug on the bottom left of the screen is REBA’s logo, while the bug on the bottom right is the logo we created for their virtual summit.

FOREGROUND GRAPHICS In addition to the two bug graphics, the video above also provides an example of foreground graphics that emphasize some of the speaker’s important points. Foreground graphics can also be used to provide additional information or context to the presented content.

Of course, these are just some of the static and motion design elements that we can create for you. To find out more about all of the ways we can help you add a professional, broadcast-quality look and feel to your event, please contact:
