Closing Down of Project “Paveline”

Creative writing about the future of Project Paveline

--

After three years of trying to survive in the competitive industry, Project “Paveline” finally need to face its destiny — Closing Down. The executives of Elev8 sit down together and reflect what leads to today’s situation.

The biggest problem is the fact that:

Our product does not have a real market.

During our product validation, the data shows us that our target user has a strong interest in our ideas and products. At that time, we were too naive to think that this was enough for validating our concept. If we had done more research, it would have changed our decision to begin devoting money to develop our product.

Just because everyone says it’s a good idea doesn’t mean it’s truly a good idea.

The reality is that even if potential customers have this or that problem and want a solution to it, they will rarely actually take steps to solve it. If the problem isn’t enough to cause substantial pain in their lives, they’ll live with it without spending money and avoid to fix it.

Since we do not have enough market for us to gain money from it, what we can do is to shut down early to reduce the damage. We’ve been lying to ourselves that everything is going to be okay, but we can’t get the product back to work.

Starting a business is hard. It’s a way of thinking, an attitude, not a hobby. It can be both the best and worth thing in our lives. It’s not easy to start a business, but if we were given another chance, we would run out of money and all of our time because it’s worth it.
